Hulu

Television has become remarkably entertaining lately, thanks to hulu.

Perhaps the money the budget might have covered for set design they just threw at Anthropologie (delicious) and digital sets or actual houses, which I'm sure are selling like last week's hot cakes since the housing bubble bottle has pretty much been dried out for a year.
But the money for good writing was definitely freed up in the case of Glee. We're given a pretty compelling plot base, rife with your nationally recognized trials and tribulations of high school, but punctuated well with choreographed dance numbers and good music selection. Plus the cast can dance. And then there's Jane Lynch, who plays the a ruthless cheerleader coach who would run your testicles over a juicer without a second thought.

I'm impressed is all.

Of course, it could be because they're not writing for SNL.

Who is that Boy with the Sandwich in his Hand?

Local TEENGENERATE PSYCHO CAT KILLER (suspect) ARRESTED.

Was this punk on his way to killing people? Do sociopaths come in different flavors?

I think about a few students that roam (have roamed) the halls of my Alma Mater and wonder if any of them may have been capable of "kid"napping animals and mutilating them. I think about a few of the weird kids that I taught and wonder the same thing.

They used to say 1 in 3 people is clinically insane, so you think of your two closest friends, and then you have to wonder about yourself.

It's called being a man.

So I'm watching the most sensational local news channel. Apparently, a local 13 year old, living with his pops in Miami has Autism and is miserable here. So he booked himself a flight to L.A. (where Mom lives) and "ran away."

So there are, y'know some local yokels who have insightful things to say and eat up on-air time.

"The fact that a 13 year old boy can get himself to the airport on public transportation without adult supervision is very scary."

Cleaning up after Braintumors

I think the last thing of consequence on tee-vee I actually watched was President Obama's address to congress.

I keep forgetting how nice it is to have a leader who can speak casually and confidently with the media; someone who can pronounce nuclear.

Schedules be damned, as I come to a clearing in this woody cough of mine, I thought to devote today to my monthly scholarship bulletin, but instead I'm here babysitting 9th grade Engineering students that have to build a radio.

In general, they have no idea who Marconi was, or what a radio actually DOES (besides play music or sports news), but they can snap some circuits together and pick up different frequencies.

Which reminds me. NPR is fundraising. Go pledge at your member station.

It's Bad. It's Bad. You Know It.

Holy Toledo.

Michael Jackson's "Thriller" stands to become a keystone of musical theatre.

Oh I hope, I hope it debuts on Broadway. I'm sure that would help ticket sales.

Now, the whole world has to answer right now to tell us once again. Who's Bad?

momentous

Hey. It was a good day.
In Miami, it stayed under 80 degrees.
In school, we watched the inauguration with quiet dignity and appropriate cheers and several "yeah dude"s on my part. (and also, our principal played with his i-phone during the whole ceremony.)
In soccer, the girls won their district match, and so we proceed to regionals.

And also, to paraphrase Halle Berry, this moment is bigger than ourselves, because, of course, while we were sleeping, Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream came true.

I teared a bittle.

Pineapple Express

I hate watching movies about guys who get stoned when I am not.

If I had a buzz, it would be harshed.
